Nettrackers.net is the worst outsourcing company that I ever experienced

Nettrackers is a web development company based in Kolkata, India ripped me off for about 4000$. I had outsourced them for doing a website a year ago. There were 2 people in charge of it Atanu Ghosh and Surya Ghoshal. Atanu was the developer and Surya was the project manager.

I had heard from people that outsourcing India was good but had I knew the consequences then I would never outsource a webmaster there. People say it's cheap, in reality it's not. It's practically the same price as doing in USA, Canada and all those countries.

The developers are not qualified at all. Their codes are horrible, poor quality and not clear. They find 1000 excuses to prove themselves right and the employer wrong.

I had assigned Nettrackers to build a website in 2 months for 7000$. I paid them 2000$ in advance and they lied to me that they started working on it. The time passed by and the day they were suppose to show me the site, they told me due to some technical difficulties they were not able to send it that day and asked for a week more.

I happily gave them more time without any complains, as it was understandable for me as well. A week later they came up with another excuses for not been able to do it on time. As a good employer, I gave them more time but just in return asked them for a screen shot of the site they were building.

The answer they gave me was quiet funny. Because I assigned them for building a social networking site and they told me that they just bought the software from socialengine.net and would modify it according to how I wanted to.

Social Engine is a platform that allows you to use their code to build your own social networking site and each license cost about 250$. Nevertheless I did not mind that they were just going to modify the program to build my site.

After 2 months a half of waiting period, they were finally able to show me something but it was not close to what I have asked them to do.

Before the project began, I sent them clearly what I wanted to have on my site but there were so many functionality missing from the site.

I had also told them to design the site considering the web 2.0 style. Their answer to that was Social Engine does not let you do all the modification.

I told them to code the site not to use a ready-made software to do the job. But later I found out that it is actually pretty easy to modify with this platform for someone who has good knowledge on PHP.

But it was not possible for them. Atanu told me that he has a masters degree on computer science from Kolkata University and stuffs. If he holds masters degree then how can they be so incompetent.

I still did not lose my patience and told them to do all the necessary changes. I told them exactly step by step what I wanted to have on my site. They kept pushing the deadline forever.

I asked them for the easiest task in the world and it took them forever to do it. It took a week to change the word audio to music.

I don't know what they did but their codes were not compatible for any web server. I changed 5 different server company for them but they were unable to make it work in any of them.

This quality analysis game went on for 3 months and not much stuffs were fixed. At last I just got fed up and canceled the project. i had already paid them 4000$ and there were 3000$ remaining which I refused to pay because they did not do what they were suppose to do.

They were stupid enough to ask me for the remaining balance which I refused to pay. They were threatening me that I won't have the product where my competitors will have one or they were even gone sell my site to someone else.

Their work is not even worth 200$. All they did was to buy the software from Social Engine and poorly modified it. I would surely paid them if they had at least did the modification nicely.

I had found another web developer after and asked him to tell me the price of the product they have built. I was socked by his answer when he told me that he can do all the web 2.0 modification in less than a week if I buy him the software and the price would be 150$.

I had built another site afterward as that site was useless for me. But one thing I have learned that never to do any business with Indians. They are incompetent and most of the time they try to rip you off.
